Boot-topping


The anti-corrosive paint used on and above the waterline.

In older terminology the materials used for anti-fouling protection, particularly at the waterline and just below, and the act of applying this material.

Common use today is the narrow stripe of paint in contrasting color applied just above the waterline, primarily cosmetic.
