Rub Rail, Rub Strake, Rub Guard, Rub Strip


1) A rail on the outside of the hull of a boat to protect the hull from rubbing against piles, docks and other objects.

2) More commonly, a strip of plastic with a rubber insert that is placed on the outside of the hull to cover the hull-to-deck joint in molded fiberglass boats (rub strip).
