Condition Definitions

When writing a report, comments regarding the condition of the vessel or vessel part should not read like a weather report. The following terms are commonly used:

  • Very Good - Essentially as new in appearance and operation
  • Good - Fully serviceable with no obvious defects or limitations
  • Fair - Operational but needs cleaning, minor repair, or update
  • Poor - Needs significant cleaning, repair, or service

Moderate is not an accurate term.
